Renowned television actor Dalljiet Kaur has spoken out about the struggles and disillusionment she has faced in her personal life. Having appeared in popular shows such as 'Kulvaddhu', 'Mano Ya Na Mano', 'Choona Hai Aasmaan', and 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon', the actor has endured the collapse of two separate marriages. After spending a significant amount of time dealing with loneliness and personal hardships, she has finally opened up about the pain caused by these experiences and her current outlook on life and romance.
Targeting her second husband, Nikhil Patel
In a pointed remark, Dalljiet Kaur directed criticism toward her second husband, Nikhil Patel, without explicitly naming him in every instance. Expressing her shock at the situation, she questioned how a man of 45 or 46 years of age, who has children of his own, could involve himself in an affair with another woman after leading a public and elaborate wedding celebration. Dalljiet had married Nikhil in a high-profile ceremony and even moved to Kenya to start a new chapter, but she later accused him of having an extra-marital affair, leading to their separation. Currently, legal proceedings initiated by Dalljiet against Nikhil are ongoing in courts in both Mumbai and Kenya.
Critique of her generation versus the youth
The actor offered praise for the younger generation, suggesting they are significantly more aware and grounded. She argued that her own generation was unfortunately raised with problematic ideologies, where boys were constantly told that they were 'men' or 'lions', a narrative that she believes fostered arrogance and deep-seated misconceptions. Dalljiet stated that she now finds the concept of love to be meaningless, emphasizing that 'humanity' and 'respect' should always come before romantic affection. For her, the focus on love, romance, and traditional family structures has become trivial, and she insists that mutual respect is the only foundation that matters.
The journey from Shalin Bhanot to Nikhil Patel
Dalljiet Kaur’s first marriage was with her co-star Shalin Bhanot, whom she met while working on the show 'Kulvaddhu'. The couple tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed their son, Jaydon, in 2014. However, their relationship was marked by conflicts, eventually ending in a divorce in 2015. Following the split from Shalin, Dalljiet took on the responsibility of raising her son as a single parent. In 2022, she met Nikhil Patel, who was also a divorcee with two daughters from his previous marriage. They married in 2023, but this union also failed to sustain itself, resulting in another painful separation.
