Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to participate in several official engagements across Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad this Saturday. Throughout this visit, he will perform official reviews and engage directly with the public in the Sabarmati assembly constituency. His itinerary begins at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, where he will officially launch 'Bharat Taxi (Gujarat).' This cooperative-based ride-hailing service, developed under the Ministry of Cooperation, operates on a 'driver-as-owner' model, ensuring that drivers become stakeholders in the platform.
Reviewing Government Schemes and Infrastructure
Following the launch, Minister Amit Shah will preside over a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Circuit House in Sector-20, Gandhinagar. This session is dedicated to evaluating the implementation of central government schemes and local developmental projects. The meeting will see the presence of members of parliament, legislators, and senior administrative officials to ensure effective execution of public services.
Focus on Environmental Initiatives
In the late afternoon, the Home Minister will hold two separate review meetings in Ahmedabad focusing on the 'Green Lok Sabha' initiative within the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. The first meeting with government officials is slated for 5:15 PM, followed by a second session with organizational representatives at 6 PM. Both meetings will assess the progress made under the 'mass plantation' drive. The 'Green Gandhinagar' project has become a cornerstone of the constituency's developmental agenda, with authorities setting ambitious targets to increase green cover and enhance environmental conditions across both urban and semi-urban areas.
Direct Interaction with Citizens
At 7 PM, Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a 'Janata Darbar' (public hearing) at the Swaminarayan International School in the Ranip area of the Sabarmati assembly constituency. This event is designed to facilitate a direct dialogue with the public, allowing them to present their grievances and discuss issues pertaining to their local area. This full-day schedule underscores the government's focus on expanding the cooperative sector, maintaining rigorous administrative oversight, and advancing civic and environmental infrastructure projects in the region.
