Stabbing Incident Inside Court Premises and Emergency Hospitalization
According to the details available regarding the incident, the victim has been identified as Mayurgar Gosai, who had visited the Bhuj Sessions Court campus for official matters. The accused, identified as Rahul Marwada, confronted Mayurgar inside the court compound. An argument quickly escalated into violence when Rahul suddenly produced a concealed knife and stabbed Mayurgar directly in the stomach.
The sudden knife attack triggered panic among lawyers, litigants, and visitors present in the court area. The bloodied victim was rushed immediately to the G.K. General Hospital in Bhuj for urgent medical treatment, where he remains under close clinical care. The assailant, Rahul Marwada, also sustained injuries during the scuffle and was subsequently taken to the same hospital under police custody for medical evaluation and treatment.
Attack Unfolds Before Senior Police Officers; DySP Apprehends Attacker
The most shocking aspect of the incident was that it took place right in front of high-ranking police personnel. At the time of the stabbing, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) M.J. Christian of West Kutch Police, alongside police inspectors and uniformed personnel, were present inside the court complex handling security and official duties. Despite the police deployment, the attacker managed to carry out the violent act.
Showing swift tactical response, DySP M.J. Christian immediately intervened on the spot and subdued the attacker, arresting Rahul Marwada before he could inflict further harm or flee the scene. Police officers managed to secure the weapon used in the offense. While the prompt police action prevented further escalation, the incident highlighted vulnerabilities in the facility's security infrastructure.
Questions Over Court Security Protocols and Ongoing Police Probe
The fact that a person managed to sneak a dangerous weapon into a high-security judicial zone has raised serious questions among the legal fraternity and the general public in Bhuj. Concerns are being voiced over how the perpetrator managed to bypass security screening points at the entrance of the sessions court complex.
Preliminary police investigations point to longstanding personal enmity as the primary motive behind the physical assault. West Kutch Police have initiated the formal legal process to register a criminal complaint against the accused. Authorities stated that statements from both parties are being recorded and a thorough investigation into the sequence of events is underway. Simultaneously, police management is reviewing security checkpoints and entry procedures to ascertain how the breach occurred and prevent similar lapses in the future.
