Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat and Maharashtra, where he will dedicate development projects worth over Rs 35,000 crore to the nation and inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest. According to official statements, his first stop will be Vadodara, where he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate completed projects, and address a public gathering. A special highlight of this visit will be a direct interaction between the Prime Minister and Gen-Z youth. A large number of youngsters have registered online to attend the event and listen to him. To mark the occasion, a massive dome and a 700-meter-long red carpet stage have been set up in Vadodara, allowing the Prime Minister to walk and greet the attendees.
Inauguration of Major Infrastructure Projects
Sharing his schedule on the social media platform X, Narendra Modi stated that he would participate in events across Vadodara, Navsari, and Mumbai. These events feature the launch or foundation laying of vital projects exceeding Rs 35,000 crore, alongside dedicating three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor to the nation, which will significantly boost the logistics sector.
The projects being dedicated include three crucial sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor spanning 326 kilometers, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 20,700 crore. These sections comprise Sanand North to Makarpura, New Umargav to New Safale, and New Safale to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. The operationalization of these segments will complete the entire network of the dedicated freight corridor.
Enhanced Connectivity for Export and Import
Establishing direct connectivity with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority will accelerate the movement of import and export cargo, strengthen links between industrial hubs and ports, lower freight transportation costs, and help reduce congestion on Mumbai railway networks.
The Prime Minister will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand North, New Makarpura, New Umargav, and New JNPT in Mumbai. Additionally, a new train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road will be flagged off, benefiting residents across the Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, and Alirajpur districts.
Rail and Highway Foundations in Vadodara
At the Vadodara venue, a massive dome spanning nearly a kilometer has been erected to host the Gen-Z gathering and prominent citizens. Prime Minister Modi will walk along the 700-meter red carpet to greet the crowd and converse directly with the younger generation.
Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects spanning 329 kilometers with an investment exceeding Rs 9,700 crore, including the Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth rail lines, the Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge conversion, and the Vishwamitri-Dabhoi line doubling. He will also lay the foundation for three national highway projects valued at approximately Rs 1,780 crore, alongside various projects initiated by the Gujarat government worth around Rs 2,600 crore.
Inaugurating Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai
Moving to Maharashtra, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai. This event stands as one of the largest and most influential annual gatherings dedicated to financial technology worldwide.
The seventh edition of the Global Fintech Fest is scheduled from September 8 to September 11. Since its inception in 2020, the event has evolved into an international platform where policymakers, regulators, central bankers, financial institutions, technology firms, and academic leaders deliberate on shaping the future of the global financial sector.
