As part of this sweeping crackdown, show-cause notices have been served to approximately 80 homeowners residing in the BPTP Astaire Gardens colony located in Sector-70A. According to the planning department, these residential structures have violated the terms of their approved building plans and the regulations governing occupation certificates. Homeowners have been given a strict one-week deadline to restore their structures to the officially sanctioned maps. Failure to comply within this seven-day window will result in administrative demolition actions.
Strict Monitoring of Commercial Violations in Residential Areas
The Department of Town and Country Planning is currently conducting a detailed block-by-block survey across various residential colonies in the city. The primary objective of this exercise is to identify properties that have deviated from their sanctioned architectural blueprints or are hosting unauthorized business activities. Planning officers have clearly stated that any residential property found operating commercial shops, PG facilities, or other business ventures will face immediate sealing. On Friday, the department carried out a demolition drive in Alimuddinpur village, dismantling an illegally built market area containing roughly 10 shops. The operation was conducted under heavy police presence and proceeded without any public opposition. In a parallel development in Sector-18, the HSVP successfully cleared several encroachments on acquired government land, removing one local eatery, two scrap storage warehouses, seven wooden kiosks, and a commercial weighing scale platform.
Imminent Sealing and Demolition Drives in Sushant Lok
The enforcement campaign is set to extend to Block B of the Sushant Lok area, specifically around the local Vyapar Kendra commercial center. The department has mapped out properties in this zone where unauthorized PG hostels, guest houses, or other commercial enterprises are actively running out of residential plots. These structures are scheduled to be sealed by administrative teams. To prevent any disruptions or security challenges during the execution of this drive, the department has formally requested the deployment of adequate police forces to assist the demolition squads during the scheduled operations.
Demolition of Gangster-Linked Encroachment in Naharpur Rupa
In another major operation executed on Friday, the local police and concerned administrative departments joined forces to demolish an illegal structure in Naharpur Rupa village. According to law enforcement agencies, the unauthorized building was constructed by Krishan, who is a close associate of the notorious gangster Kaushal Chaudhary. The demolition squad completely leveled the illegal concrete structure, successfully restoring the plot of land to its original condition. Police officials noted that Krishan is a listed criminal who has been booked under more than 11 criminal cases, which include charges of murder, attempt to murder, and multiple offenses under the Arms Act.
