A harrowing case of domestic violence and armed assault has surfaced from Sankhol village in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, where a man was repeatedly shot with his own firearm. The victim, identified as Joginder, sustained serious bullet wounds both inside his house and while attempting to flee along the street. Police have formally booked his wife and son in connection with the life-threatening attack.
Locker Broken to Retrieve Licensed Firearm
Joginder detailed the sequence of events in his official statement recorded from his hospital bed. According to his account, his licensed pistol had been securely stored inside an almirah locker at his residence. He alleged that his wife and son conspired together to force open the locker and take possession of the weapon. The moment he stepped inside the house, his wife aimed directly at him and discharged a round into his leg.
Pursued on the Road and Shot a Second Time
Despite being wounded and bleeding, Joginder managed to scramble onto his motorcycle in a desperate bid to save his life. However, his wife and son pursued him outside. They intercepted him midway through his escape and fired another round, striking him in the abdomen. The second bullet caused him to collapse heavily injured on the road, after which he was rushed to a medical facility.
Initial Rumors Cleared and In-Laws Implicated
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, local speculation suggested that the son had acted alone in shooting his father. Law enforcement officials refrained from drawing conclusions until they could record the victim's testimony. On Thursday afternoon, Joginder provided his statement, dispelling the initial rumors. Beyond naming his wife and son as the primary attackers, he leveled severe accusations against his in-laws, alleging that they actively instigated and provoked the attack.

Joginder was admitted to the Brahm Shakti Sanjeevani Hospital in the city for emergency treatment. Dr. Piyush, who is overseeing his care, confirmed that the patient is currently out of danger while continuing to receive medical attention. Concurrently, Sector-6 police station has registered a formal criminal case against the accused wife and son.
