The police investigation into the brutal murder of Rahul Malik in Nagal Kheri village of Panipat district, Haryana, has unearthed startling revelations. According to law enforcement findings, Rahul's friend Sahil played the pivotal role in orchestrating the murder plot. Although Sahil shared no previous animosity with Rahul, he harbored a deep sense of jealousy toward him. Notably, Sahil had also been previously deported from the United States and was actively looking for ways to migrate to Europe.
The Plot to Become an Approver
Following the crime, Sahil attempted to shield himself from legal liability and schemed to become a government witness by creating a manufactured narrative. Police investigations indicate that he orchestrated circumstances to distance himself directly from the murder charges. Right after the incident, Sahil recorded a video at the crime scene and later went to the police station to record another video. Authorities noted that these activities were calculated moves designed to present himself as a mere bystander rather than a participant in the homicide.
Alcohol-Fueled Dispute and Prolonged Suffering
According to the police probe, the sequence of events began with an alcohol-fueled argument between Rahul and Aryan. What started as a verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical scuffle. During the tussle, Rahul pulled out a knife and attacked, prompting Aryan to overpower him. The situation spiraled out of control, resulting in Rahul's fatal injuries. Investigators found that Rahul lay in agony for nearly one and a half hours. While attempts were made to help him during this period, he failed to receive timely medical assistance.
Intervention Efforts by Domestic Help and Villagers
During the altercation, a domestic helper present at the scene attempted to separate Rahul and Aryan. In the ensuing chaos, the helper, Nitesh, suffered a knife injury to his hand and walked away from the spot. After his departure, only Rahul, Aryan, Sahil, and a local villager named Surender remained at the location. Both Rahul and Aryan had previously traveled to the United States through illegal donkey routes before being deported back to India, after which they began living together locally.
