A shocking incident of violence unfolded in Panipat, Haryana, where a liquor party during Dussehra celebrations turned fatal for a young man. Rahul Malik, a 28-year-old resident of Nangal Kheri, was brutally stabbed to death by his own childhood friend following a heated argument, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Dispute Erupts During Gathering
On the day of Vijayadashami, a group of friends had gathered inside an office located on the border of Vikas Nagar and Nangal Kheri to consume alcohol. Rahul Malik was among the attendees. According to preliminary police findings, a verbal altercation broke out between Rahul and his childhood companion over an undisclosed matter while they were drinking.
Brutal Stabbing Attack
As the argument escalated, reports indicate that a few individuals held Rahul down, allowing his childhood friend to launch a vicious knife attack. The victim sustained 7 to 8 deep stab wounds across his body. Upon receiving urgent information about the assault, family members rushed to the scene and transported a critically wounded Rahul to a private hospital in Panipat for emergency medical care.
Death During Treatment
Rahul remained unconscious from the moment he was brought in, and doctors fought to save his life. However, on Wednesday, Rahul Malik succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Medical professionals confirmed that he bore multiple sharp-cut injuries from the knife attack. The grieving family has accused 4 to 5 local youths from the same village of orchestrating and executing the assault.
The US Deportation Connection
According to the victim's family, Rahul and the primary suspect shared a long history as childhood friends. In the year 2023, both individuals undertook a journey to the United States using the illegal donkey route. Sources indicate that approximately 50 lakh rupees were spent to facilitate their entry into America. However, after being apprehended abroad, both men were deported back to India. The family alleges that this shared troubled background culminated in the fatal attack.
Police Investigation Underway
Providing details on the ongoing investigation, Sector 29 Station House Officer Robin stated that local authorities had received information regarding the violent clash. Although Rahul passed away during treatment, formal written complaints from the family were still awaited.
