In a major breakthrough against organized crime in Jharkhand, the Dhanbad police have arrested Bunty Khan, the brother of infamous gangster Prince Khan, during a targeted raid in Kolkata. Acting on precise intelligence, a special police team intercepted him while he was allegedly plotting to escape the country using fraudulent documents. Following his arrest, the police brought him back to Dhanbad, where high-ranking officers are conducting an intensive interrogation.
Plot to Escape Abroad Uncovered in Kolkata
According to police details, Bunty Khan had been hiding in Kolkata after leaving Dhanbad to evade law enforcement. He was actively making preparations to flee the country using a forged passport. His primary objective was to reach his absconding brother, Prince Khan, who is currently hiding overseas. However, before he could execute his getaway, local police intercepted information regarding his whereabouts and secret plans.
Upon receiving the intelligence, Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar promptly formed a specialized team to execute the operation. The team dispatched to Kolkata conducted a swift operation and successfully apprehended Bunty Khan. He was subsequently transported to Dhanbad under tight security measures for further legal action.
Top Officials Lead Interrogation at Bank More Police Station
Upon his arrival in Dhanbad, Bunty Khan was immediately shifted to the Bank More police station, where senior officials initiated detailed questioning. To uncover the full extent of his network and escape plan, top police officers are directly leading the probe. SSP Prabhat Kumar, along with the City SP and Rural SP, are actively involved in questioning the suspect.
Investigators are closely scrutinizing the fake passport details and examining all documents retrieved in connection with his attempted exit from India. The police are working to identify facilitators who assisted him in obtaining forged papers, as well as local contacts who provided financial or logistical support. Authorities anticipate that this interrogation could yield vital clues regarding the current location and operational network of the fugitive gangster Prince Khan.
Extensive Criminal Record and Connection to Nanhe Murder Case
Bunty Khan carries a heavy criminal background with multiple cases registered against him across various police stations in Dhanbad. The charges involve severe offenses, including murder, extortion, Arms Act violations, and criminal conspiracy. Crucially, he is a key accused in the widely reported Nanhe murder case that rocked the region.
Due to these pending cases, Bunty Khan served approximately four years in prison before obtaining bail in January this year. Notably, several additional cases were booked against him even while he was incarcerated. Police maintained continuous surveillance on his movements following his release on bail, ultimately foiling his attempt to flee abroad.
