Addressing reporters outside the Parliament complex, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi revealed that when an Opposition MP delegation met Speaker Om Birla, he told them he would first need the government's go-ahead before facilitating any discussion on the alleged "brutality" inflicted on students during the CJP protest march. AAP members of the Rajya Sabha, including Sanjay Singh, staged a demonstration outside the Parliament building, chanting slogans to oppose the police action during the Cockroach Janta Party-led protest rally in Delhi on Monday (July 20, 2026).

Following his meeting with Speaker Om Birla, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi stated that Parliament needs to hold an "in-depth debate regarding the violent treatment faced by students yesterday, as well as the government's total evasion of responsibility concerning the exam irregularities." He added that the Opposition forces would prevent the matter from being hushed up, ensuring that the "voice of the students will echo both on the streets and inside the Parliament."

Following the adjournment of the House until 12 p.m. due to the ongoing commotion, a delegation of Opposition MPs, guided by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Providing details after the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday morning (July 21, 2026), Union Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters that PM Modi informed lawmakers about the quick measures initiated by the administration following the leak of the NEET exam papers.
