During the session, the Home Secretary emphasized the critical necessity of active monitoring, risk-based strategic planning, enhanced early warning networks, and local community preparedness to effectively mitigate disaster impacts.

A legislator belonging to Nepal's ruling coalition indicated that additional survivors may still be trapped within the Trishuli 3A tunnel. This statement came shortly after emergency responders successfully extracted two individuals from the location.

According to the MEA, the Indian government will provide DNA profiling facilities across central and state forensic laboratories for immediate biological family members of those missing in the Nepal floods to assist in identifying recovered bodies. This initiative aims to help grieving families confirm the identities of victims affected by the severe disaster.

Kin of American citizens who vanished during Nepal's devastating sudden floods have urged U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to intensify rescue efforts to locate their loved ones. Following the severe deluge that struck central and northern parts of Nepal on August 26, a minimum of 90 U.S. citizens remain unaccounted for. In a letter sent on August 29, the grieving families expressed their desire for everyone to be rescued, stating they expected proactive support from their own administration to trace fellow citizens.

The tragic flash floods in Nepal's Nuwakot and Rasuwa regions have left nearly 600 children missing, while the overall death count escalated to 1,282 on Friday (September 2), alongside nearly 4,800 individuals who remain missing. Official statistics from Nepal Police reveal that bodies recovered so far include 359 in Chitwan, 218 in Nawalparasi East, 208 in Nawalparasi West, 185 in Nuwakot, 140 in Rasuwa, 72 in Gorkha, 60 in Dhading, and 38 in Tanahu. The loss of life rose to 1,282 after two injured individuals succumbed during medical treatment at hospitals in Kathmandu. Currently, a joint task force of security personnel is actively carrying out operations to trace 4,798 missing individuals across multiple disaster-struck locations.
