In a major anti-corruption action in Madhya Pradesh, massive disproportionate assets have been uncovered in connection with Indore police head constable Firoz Khan. Joint teams of the Lokayukta launched coordinated search operations across his residence in Dewas and several related properties, revealing extensive wealth that far exceeds his official earnings as a police personnel. Real estate valuations gathered so far point to immovable properties exceeding Rs 29 crore, with enforcement authorities confirming that searches remain underway across multiple premises.
Simultaneous Raids Across 15 Locations in Dewas and Indore
Teams drawn from Lokayukta units in Indore and Ujjain initiated the search operation on the morning of October 14, targeting Khan's Dewas home along with 14 other locations. Financial scrutiny carried out by the anti-corruption agency calculated an expenditure of approximately ₹12.95 crore against his known lawful earnings. This expenditure was found to be nearly ₹11.01 crore higher than his legitimate income, marking a disproportionate ratio of 568 percent. Officials maintained a tight perimeter as teams combed through financial files and property records.
33 Properties and 21 Bank Accounts Under Scrutiny
During the verification of seized deeds and registries, investigators detected 33 distinct immovable properties carrying a combined present market value estimated at around ₹29.73 crore. The inquiries also turned up real estate and financial stakes registered under the name of an acquaintance, Roshni Verma, alongside links to various companies and commercial firms. Furthermore, authorities traced approximately 21 bank accounts tied to the network and immediately froze withdrawals across them to prevent asset dissipation while search operations proceed across Dewas and Indore.
Family Background in the Police Department
The investigation has also drawn attention to Khan's family ties within the state police force. His late father, Ghaffar, had served in the police department and retired holding the rank of Sub Inspector. Meanwhile, his twin brother, Javed, is currently serving in the police establishment with an active posting in Agar Malwa. Departmental records also indicated that Firoz Khan had remained on leave for several days preceding the searches. The scale of the discovered holdings has raised significant questions over how a departmental head constable could amass assets rivaling prominent business entities.
