Public grievance redressal in Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a major administrative crackdown as Chief Minister Mohan Yadav sternly addressed governance lapses during a review in Barwani. Speaking at the Samadhan program organized under the Chief Minister Jan-Vishwas Abhiyan at the Barwani Collectorate, the Chief Minister expressed strong dissatisfaction with delayed complaint resolutions and official negligence. After examining the status of pending cases logged on the CM Helpline and seeking detailed reports from department heads, Mohan Yadav directed the immediate suspension of seven government officers and employees while sanctioning a formal show-cause notice against a senior administrator.
Action Against Irregularities in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi
The review underscored zero tolerance toward delays in flagship welfare initiatives, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. Investigations revealed unwarranted delays and procedural lapses in beneficiary registration and fund distribution. Consequently, Asha Parmar, who served as Tehsildar during the period of irregularity and is currently posted as Deputy Collector in Dhar, was ordered to be suspended. Along with the Deputy Collector, two patwaris, Mangilal Nargave and Lalit Borse, were also placed under suspension for their involvement in the matter.
Penalties for Negligence in Housing Scheme and Urban Oversight
Urban civic administration faced similar scrutiny over poor handling of welfare projects. For failing to adequately execute tasks under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and delaying resolution of resident grievances, Chief Municipal Officers Mayaram Solanki and Jagdish Dhangar received suspension orders. Assistant Engineer Raju Dawar, stationed in Rajpur, was also suspended for negligence in duty. Furthermore, SK Sinha, Joint Director of Urban Administration based in Indore, was served a official show-cause notice due to inadequate oversight and failure to drive progress on urban governance matters under his jurisdiction.
Panchayat Executive Penalized Over Delayed Sambal Welfare Funds
Panchayat level social security delivery was another focal area during the Chief Minister's inspection. Unnecessary administrative delays in dispersing funeral grants and ex-gratia financial assistance under the Sambal Yojana invited severe disciplinary measures. Saurabh Singh Rathore, who formerly held the post of Janpad Panchayat CEO in Pansemal and currently serves as District Coordinator in Morena, was ordered suspended for failing to ensure timely relief to eligible beneficiaries.
Strengthening Bureaucratic Accountability State Wide
The state government launched the Jan-Vishwas Abhiyan on August 7 to ensure that government machinery directly reaches the doorsteps of citizens across Madhya Pradesh. During the Barwani session, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directly interacted with local residents, listened to their grievances, and cross-examined officials on action-taken reports. This widespread action against seven officials across multiple departments sends a firm message to the bureaucracy that negligence, delayed public service delivery, and insensitivity toward public welfare will draw strict consequences.
