A shocking case of alleged love jihad has emerged from Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh, where a Muslim man concealed his real identity, applied a tilak on his forehead, and trapped a Hindu woman in a relationship built on deception. Once the truth came out, the victim filed a complaint at Chandiya police station, following which police arrested the accused and sent him to jail.
Who is the accused
The accused has been identified as Dr Haroon Khan, a resident of Chandiya city. He runs a poly clinic named KGN located opposite the municipality office.
Friendship built on a fake name
According to the victim, the accused changed his name to befriend her and introduced himself as Abhishek Singh Parihar. The two became friends in 2025. Later, when the victim discovered that he was actually Haroon Khan, she objected to the relationship.
Blackmailed with videos
When the victim protested, the accused allegedly threatened her, claiming he had videos of their physical relationship. He warned that if she did not pay him money, he would make the videos viral. Fearing exposure, the victim gradually paid him a total of Rs 8 lakh. Despite the payments, the accused continued to blackmail her. When the harassment became unbearable, she went to Chandiya police station and filed a complaint.
Police action
SDOP PS Paraste said that acting on the victim's complaint, action was taken against Chandiya resident Dr Haroon Khan, who has been sent to jail. The accused has been charged with committing rape against the victim through deception. Police are carrying out further action in the case, and facts related to blackmailing have also come to light during the investigation. Police are closely examining photos, videos, online chats and transaction records connected to the entire episode.
