The family of Siya Goyal, a prime suspect in the high-profile Ketan Agarwal murder case, has vehemently denied allegations that she made an offensive hand gesture towards media representatives. Her father, Praveen Goyal, stepped forward to clarify that what was widely perceived online as a deliberate insult was actually the physical consequence of an accidental injury. He stated that his daughter was in intense pain after her fingers were crushed in the door of a police vehicle, forcing her to keep her finger straight due to swelling.
Father Presents Photographic Evidence of Injury
To counter the viral claims, Praveen Goyal shared photographs of his daughter’s injured hand from his smartphone. He explained that one of Siya's hands was heavily bandaged, while a finger on her other hand was severely swollen with the nail turning blue due to internal bleeding. According to him, the incident occurred when the Pune Rural Police escorted Siya to her residence for an on-site investigation, and her fingers got trapped in the police van's door as it closed. He emphasized that her physical discomfort was misconstrued as a vulgar gesture, adding that the Pune Rural Police could easily verify the details of her injury.
The Incident During Thursday's Search Operation
The controversy erupted on Thursday when a team from the Pune Rural Police escorted Siya Goyal to her home located in the Market Yard area of Pune to gather evidence and conduct a search. Following the completion of the procedural search, reporters waiting outside captured footage of her as she was being led back to the police vehicle. The video, which began circulating rapidly on social media platforms, led to widespread public outrage, with many users condemning her apparent attitude and raising questions about her lack of remorse and the functioning of the legal system. However, her family maintains that the clip has been taken entirely out of context to paint a misleading picture.
Accusations of Lohagad Fort Cliff Murder
The murder case centers around the tragic death of 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal, a real estate professional who was engaged to Siya Goyal. The couple was scheduled to get married in November of this year. According to the investigation, Siya Goyal and her boyfriend, Chetan Choudhary, allegedly conspired and pushed Ketan off a steep cliff at the historic Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Following her refusal to undergo a polygraph lie-detector test, the court remanded Siya to 14 days of judicial custody, where she currently remains.
Deleted Chats and Coded Messages Under Scrutiny
The investigation has taken a digital turn as Pune Police informed the court that they have successfully retrieved deleted data from the mobile phones of the accused individuals. The recovered data reportedly contains suspicious chat logs written using code words, nicknames, and specific emojis. Investigators are currently working to decrypt these conversations to determine if a third party played a role in planning or executing the alleged murder. The police hope that analyzing these digital trails will provide crucial breakthroughs and help establish a clear timeline of the conspiracy leading up to the fatal incident.
