Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat described the discontent among today's youth as completely genuine while engaging with students in Mumbai. Speaking at the I.I.M.U.N. event hosted at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, he emphasized that the younger generation demands logical explanations and cannot be expected to follow past practices blindly. He urged institutions to engage in timely dialogue with young minds.
Agitation as a Valid Form of Dialogue and Genuine Concerns
Addressing questions on youth engagement, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat stated that protest and agitation serve as legitimate modes of communication when regular channels fail to listen. He noted that administrative authorities and decision-makers should proactively converse with the younger population. When voices go unheard, taking to democratic agitation is understandable, making it clear that Gen Z's unrest stems from a sincere desire for positive change.
Necessity for Educational System Reforms
Highlighting the country's learning environment, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat stressed that India's education system requires substantive structural reforms. Unlike previous generations who accepted elder dictates without scrutiny, Gen Z and Gen Alpha require well-reasoned answers. To keep pace with modern realities, educational frameworks must evolve to address the analytical queries of students effectively.
Over 2,000 Students Gathered Across 100+ Cities
The conference brought together approximately 2,000 high school students in the 15 to 19 age bracket representing more than 100 cities nationwide. Through the I.I.M.U.N. platform, young participants discussed various socio-economic, educational, and governance matters directly with Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, who encouraged them to contribute constructively to national development.
