Facing severe difficulties due to a surging population of stray animals, local leaders from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) decided to stage an unusual demonstration to compel authorities to take notice of public safety concerns.
Stray Animals Released Inside Municipal Office
Driven by mounting grievances over the stray animal situation, Yuva Sena district chief Vikram Randhave led a group of supporters straight into the Niphad Nagar Panchayat office. Carrying sacks filled with stray dogs, the delegation engaged in discussions with officials before unsealing the bags and releasing the animals directly onto the work desk of Chief Officer Dhiraj Bhamre. Caught completely off guard, the official stood stunned as the frightened dogs scrambled across the room and onto side tables.
Attempted Garland Offer and Official Response
The demonstration did not stop with the animals, as the participants also brought along a garland made of currency notes, attempting to place it around the neck of the chief officer. However, Bhamre declined to wear the garland and instead assured the gathered crowd that measures would be taken to address the stray dog crisis.
