Gold prices across various purities in Bangalore declined on Tuesday, July 28, reversing course after a multi-day surge. The recent correction in local bullion markets moved in tandem with international precious metal prices, as investors cautiously navigated growing expectations that the US Federal Reserve could raise interest rates during its upcoming meeting. For market participants who actively monitor city rates, the shift brings notable relief following a recent strong rally.

Global Cues and US Federal Reserve Meeting
On the international front, spot gold prices saw a marginal retreat to $4050 per ounce on Tuesday. This bearish sentiment across global bullion desks stems from market participants pricing in potential monetary tightening by the US central bank. The crucial US Fed meeting is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, July 28, setting the tone for currency and commodity movements worldwide.
Expert Outlook on Long Term Investment
Weighing in on the macro environment, Tata Mutual Fund noted in its gold outlook report that uncertainties surrounding the US-Iran peace deal, the ongoing US Fed rate dilemma, a strengthening US dollar, and elevated bond yields will likely keep bullion confined to a specific range. While higher yields and rate hike probabilities may exert short-term downward pressure on gold, these factors simultaneously create a solid foundation for long-term investors looking to accumulate the asset.
