Aastha Spintex Ltd., an Indian textile manufacturing company trading below the Rs 100 mark, has announced a 1:1 bonus share issue for its equity shareholders. Under this corporate action, the company will distribute more than 4.41 crore additional shares to eligible investors at no extra cost. The announcement triggered strong buying momentum in the counter, sending the share price higher by more than 16 percent across the last five trading sessions on the domestic bourse.
Current Share Price and Market Performance
On the BSE, shares of Aastha Spintex currently trade around Rs 89.79 apiece, representing a total company market capitalization of Rs 396.35 crore. The counter witnessed substantial trading volume that lifted the stock by nearly 10 percent in a single trading session yesterday. Over the last five trading days, the stock has gained nearly 17 percent, while extending its monthly performance to an advance of roughly 23 percent on a month-on-month comparison as market participants reacted favorably to the bonus distribution plan.
Terms of the 1:1 Bonus Issue
The textile manufacturer has formalized a bonus issue in the ratio of 1:1, offering one free equity share for every existing equity share held by an investor. The equity shares maintain a face value of Rs 10 each. In aggregate, Aastha Spintex will issue and allocate 4,41,42,190 bonus shares to eligible participants. This measure broadens the company's equity base while rewarding long-term shareholders directly from accumulated corporate reserves without demanding capital contributions from equity holders.
Record Date and Allotment Timeline
Eligibility for the bonus allocation depends strictly on whether shares are settled in an investor's demat account on the specified date. The company has set September 28, 2026, as the definitive record date to ascertain the list of eligible equity shareholders. Following the closure of the record date, the company plans to complete the formal allotment of the 4,41,42,190 bonus shares on September 29, 2026. Anyone buying shares without meeting settlement requirements prior to this cutoff will be excluded from the issuance.
Operations and Textile Portfolio
Aastha Spintex maintains an extensive industrial presence across numerous stages of textile production and fabric handling. Its operations encompass spinners, weavers, loomers, knitters, texturisers, combers, processors, producers, hosiers, habers, dashers, cripers, and ginners. The firm also handles downstream activities including embroidery, bleaching, dyeing, printing, cutting, finishing, blending, carding, and doubling. Its trade network spans both wholesale and retail, commodity exchanges, as well as export and import operations across a multitude of materials such as cotton, wool, silk, jute, hemp, linen, viscose, rayon, nylon, polyester, acrylic, and polypropylene.
Accounting Impact of Bonus Issuances
Listed corporations execute bonus share distributions to distribute the gains of accumulated earnings to existing investors without dispersing company cash. When a bonus issuance is completed, the face value of the underlying equity stays unchanged, but the company's capital reserves decrease as funds shift to equity capital. For investors, the aggregate share count in their investment portfolio doubles in a 1:1 issue, while the nominal share price undergoes a mathematical adjustment downward in the same proportion. Standard valuation metrics, such as earnings per share and book value per share, adjust downward accordingly.
