Giant Water Tank Submerged in Ballia by Ganges Floodwaters
In Uttar Pradesh, Ballia is witnessing the ferocious power of the Ganges river. Floodwaters caused extensive erosion, leading to a massive water tank standing over 20 feet tall collapsing completely into the river. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, Rewa faced severe waterlogging as floodwaters poured directly into residential societies. Ground-floor homes were completely submerged, forcing residents to move to upper floors for safety. Police personnel had to wade through neck-deep water to conduct rescue operations and bring stranded citizens to safety.
Pickup Vehicle Trapped in Rushing Waters in Mohali
In Punjab, Mohali experienced a tense rescue when a pickup vehicle carrying a buffalo became stranded in the middle of a fast-flowing stream. The vehicle got stuck after water levels surged unexpectedly. Fortunately, concerted efforts ensured that both the driver and the animal were rescued safely. Later, the pickup vehicle was pulled out of the raging current with the help of ropes.

Uttarakhand capital Dehradun remains under a red alert due to incessant downpours in the hills, keeping the Tamsa river at a danger mark. The area surrounding the revered Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple has suffered significant damage, with temple structures and ghats completely submerged. Water rushing down from the mountains with immense velocity has turned the entire vicinity into a flood zone.
High Alert Issued as Tamsa River Rages
The aggressive surge of the river has damaged multiple vehicles parked nearby. A major section of the temple remains underwater, and floodwaters have reached close to the giant Hanuman statue. In response to the menacing flow of the Tamsa river, authorities have issued strict warnings, advising residents to stay away from low-lying areas. Administration teams remain stationed along the riverbanks, continuously urging people to maintain a safe distance.
Three Youths Rescued from Chenab River in Akhnoor
In Jammu and Kashmir, a perilous two-hour rescue operation successfully saved three lives from the Chenab river in Akhnoor. On Saturday night, three young men were sitting near stone formations on the Chandiyan ghat when a sudden rise in water levels trapped them in the middle of the raging current. Following alerts from locals, the Akhnoor police, alongside the Indian army and SDRF teams, deployed ropes to safely pull all three youths ashore. Earlier, a similar incident occurred in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, where an auto-rickshaw was swept away by floodwaters before local residents intervened to save the passengers.
