Following its recent youth demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has convened a two-day core committee meeting to chart out its future roadmap. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday prior to the deliberations, party founder Abhijeet Dipke clarified that the organization will currently function as an active pressure group rather than jumping straight into electoral politics. The ongoing two-day conference brings together representatives from across the country to draft a comprehensive action plan focused on youth affairs.
Declining Trust in Democratic Institutions
Addressing queries regarding potential entry into mainstream political contests, Abhijeet Dipke observed that public confidence in key democratic pillars, including governments, political entities, and media houses, has witnessed a noticeable decline. He emphasized that rebuilding citizen trust in democratic structures necessitates sustained public pressure and widespread mass movements. Present political conditions have fueled widespread disillusionment among young people across India, prompting widespread protest. The momentum generated at Jantar Mantar represents a broader national youth awakening that will continue forward.
Focus on Economic Issues and Delimitation
Reiterating his core perspective, Dipke stated that India urgently requires a robust public movement to safeguard youth interests. Outlining theagenda for the two-day core committee meeting, he noted that discussions will systematically address national economic challenges, delimitation concerns, and pressing educational or employment issues facing young citizens. Furthermore, reacting to ongoing student agitation in Jharkhand, Abhijeet Dipke confirmed that a CJP delegation will travel to Jharkhand to meet directly with protesting students and understand their grievances first-hand.
Police Action During Parliament March
Elaborating on recent organizational challenges, CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das detailed the crackdown experienced by party activists during their march toward Parliament. According to Das, security personnel cordoned off the entire Jantar Mantar area and used lathicharge against peaceful demonstrators, injuring several workers. At the exact time of the police action, Saurabh Das along with Ashutosh Rang were representing the organization in formal negotiations with an official government delegation. The current core committee session is evaluating these incidents while mapping out tactics for the next phase of agitation and nationwide organizational expansion.
