He added that to run the administration, they had to rely on political parties that contested elections alongside the DMK alliance, asserting that the current setup has failed to deliver on any of its promises. Prior to this, TKS Ilangovan had backed Congress party's stance asserting that Rahul Gandhi should be projected as the prime ministerial candidate instead. Following this warning, TVK MLA Kanimozhi Santhosh claimed that Vijay would be the prime ministerial candidate in 2029 and that Rahul Gandhi himself would take him by the hand to seat him in the prime minister's office. This ongoing war of words follows previous legislative confrontations, including instances where Chief Minister Vijay and Udhayanidhi clashed inside the assembly.
