BJP national president Nitin Naveen landed in Lucknow on Saturday for a two-day visit, his first trip to Uttar Pradesh since taking charge of the party's top post. Within the party, the visit is being read as the opening bugle for the 2027 assembly election campaign, with the two-day itinerary expected to lock in key pieces of the BJP's Mission-2027 strategy. The itinerary, packed across just two days, points to how urgently the party wants its Uttar Pradesh unit to shift gears.
Airport welcome and a big road show
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally received Nitin Naveen at the Lucknow airport. State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, several ministers from the Yogi government, and senior party leaders were also present for the welcome. After leaving the airport, Naveen took part in a road show through the streets of Lucknow, joined by a large turnout of BJP workers and supporters. Enthusiasm ran high along the entire route as the convoy moved through the city amid slogans and cheering.
First big meeting with the new state team
The BJP had recently formed a new state executive committee for Uttar Pradesh, and the party is now working to switch that fresh team into full election mode. Over his two-day stay, Nitin Naveen will hold direct meetings with state office bearers, where he is expected to review the new team's work so far, the state of organisational preparedness, and its impact on the ground. Office bearers will also be asked for feedback and suggestions that could feed into the road ahead.
A crucial core group meeting on the final day
On the last day of the visit, the state BJP's core group will hold its most important meeting of the trip. It will bring together national president Nitin Naveen, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both deputy chief ministers, state president Pankaj Chaudhary, state organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh, and both regional pracharaks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Naveen will additionally meet the state's 98 district presidents. There are also discussions planned with shakti kendra in-charges from the Awadh region on strengthening the organisation further, along with a separate meeting scheduled with representatives of the RSS, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
The real focus: sharpening the 2027 game plan
Through this visit, the BJP leadership wants to get the organisation fully activated for the 2027 assembly election. According to political observers, the meetings are likely to touch on a set of key points.

The new team put together by state president Pankaj Chaudhary carries a total of 64 office bearers, with caste and regional balance kept firmly in mind while forming it. National president Nitin Naveen will now work with this very team to review the preparations for Mission-2027 and deliberate on sharpening the BJP's electoral strategy in Uttar Pradesh.
