India has been an active member of the SCO since 2017. Key topics expected to dominate the dialogue include trade, energy, fertilizers, defense, and regional cooperation, alongside exploring practical avenues to bridge trade imbalances between the two nations.
The two leaders previously met in New Delhi in December 2025, followed by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to Moscow on August 24, where he delivered a personal message from the Prime Minister to President Putin. Consequently, the upcoming interaction in Bishkek is widely regarded as vital for shaping the trajectory of bilateral relations in the near future.
