Expressing grave concern over internal data, the Chief Minister warned ministers, MLAs, and Congress party functionaries that operational laxity during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process would not be tolerated. Citing confidential reports collected from various districts and assembly constituencies, he highlighted a critical vulnerability wherein nearly 21 percent of registered voters face the risk of deletion from the electoral rolls. To counter this threat, he has ordered immediate field-level action across all regional units.
High-Voltage Meeting and Stern Warnings to Party Leaders
The issue took center stage during an emergency review meeting convened on Thursday evening in the presence of senior party leadership. According to details from the tense session, Chief Minister Reddy held district in-charge ministers, local legislators, and booth-level coordinators directly accountable for failing to safeguard voter entries. He emphasized that negligence in preventing voter list attrition could trigger severe political setbacks in upcoming electoral contests. Reinforcing the gravity of the situation, he signaled that strict disciplinary action could be initiated in line with directions from the Congress high command if representatives fail to show accountability.
Strict Deadlines for District Reviews and On-Ground Audits
To rectify errors ahead of upcoming administrative milestones, Chief Minister Reddy established an immediate timeline. District in-charge ministers have been mandated to complete comprehensive field reviews within the next two days alongside parliamentary and assembly constituency coordinators. They must compile exact figures detailing affected voters in every constituency. Furthermore, assembly constituency in-charges must remain stationed within their respective segments for four consecutive days to identify local discrepancies. Following the conclusion of the SIR exercise on August 10, the official draft voter list is scheduled for publication on August 17. The Chief Minister ordered all technical and administrative errors to be fully resolved prior to the August 17 draft release.
Re-Registration Drive Using Form 6 Ahead of Final List
A structured effort is being mobilized to re-register eligible citizens whose names were omitted or marked for deletion. Party leaders and booth representatives have been tasked with facilitating the re-enrollment process by guiding voters through the submission of Form 6. This step aims to ensure that no legitimate elector is left out of the democratic process. The entire campaign is targeted toward securing complete accuracy before the final electoral roll is officially published on October 19. The Chief Minister reiterated that ensuring clean and comprehensive voter lists remains an urgent priority for the administration and party framework until the October 19 deadline.
