Residents of Ajan village located in the Deeg district of Bharatpur are currently grappling with a severe civic issue concerning their primary pathways. The route leading to the local cremation ground has turned into a major hassle for the villagers due to severe waterlogging and accumulation of thick mud, making even walking across it nearly impossible. The most distressing situation arises during times of grief when a villager passes away, and the funeral procession must navigate this very waterlogged and muddy stretch to reach the final resting place.
Struggles During Funeral Processions Due to Waterlogging
According to the locals, water has been standing on the path to the cremation ground for a long period, and the situation deteriorated further following the recent rains. With deep mud and stagnant dirty water spanning across various spots, mourners participating in funeral processions are left with no choice but to wade through the slush and water. On multiple occasions, transporting the body all the way to the cremation ground has become an ordeal that tests the endurance of the entire community.
Urgent Appeals to Administration and Rising Fears
The villagers emphasize that this path is critically important for the community, but its condition continues to worsen due to a complete lack of proper drainage systems. Locals harbor strong fears that if the accumulated water is not drained out immediately, the troubles are bound to multiply in the days ahead. Consequently, the villagers have formally appealed to the administration and the concerned departments to visit the site at the earliest, clear out the standing water, remove the thick mud, and restore the path to a usable condition.
The residents maintain that the route leading to the cremation ground must at least remain accessible enough so that grieving families and fellow villagers do not have to endure such distress during a funeral. They are pressing for immediate administrative intervention to clear the path and ensure smooth passage for everyone.
