Strict enforcement measures have been witnessed in Bikaner as local authorities cracked down on unauthorized commercial activities flouting safety standards ahead of Diwali. The district administration took a firm stance against the illegal operation of firecracker trade in one of the most crowded and densely populated commercial zones of the city.
A joint team comprising personnel from the municipal corporation and the Kotgate police station executed a major raid following specific inputs. This swift administrative action during the peak festive season created panic among local traders operating outside legal frameworks. Officials emphasized that compromising public safety for commercial gains will invite immediate punitive measures.
Violation of Licensing Norms
Official investigations into the matter revealed that the trader in question was misusing an authorization issued for an entirely different location. Fire Safety Officer Revantsingh detailed that the permit held by the operator did not apply to the busy thoroughfare where the illegal stall was set up. Bypassing regulatory protocols, the shop was established in a sensitive main market area without acquiring the requisite local permissions.
Authorities noted that such blatant disregard for safety rules not only challenges administrative oversight but also poses severe risks to the lives of citizens frequenting the marketplace.
Strict Bans in Crowded Zones
The administration reiterated that storing and retailing pyrotechnics within congested commercial districts remains strictly prohibited. Adhering to fire safety standards and maintaining preventive protocols is mandatory during major festivals like Deepawali to avert potential fire hazards and tragic accidents. Despite these clear guidelines, commercial interests often prompt individuals to bypass safety parameters, necessitating direct intervention from law enforcement and municipal teams.
Warning Against Safety Violations
Following the operation, Fire Safety Officer Revantsingh issued a stern warning stating that individuals endangering public safety through unlawful practices will face strict action. Joint administrative and police patrols will continue conducting surprise checks across various markets in the coming days to curb hazardous activities.
