A sudden wave of panic gripped residents in the Borkhera area of Kota district on a Sunday night when a nearly four-and-a-half-foot long crocodile was discovered hiding beneath a vehicle. The incident took place near Kanchan Resort on Thehguda Road within the Jain Mandir Colony. Late at night, when the vehicle owner approached his car for some work, his glance fell near the rear tire where he noticed a long tail moving. Upon closer inspection, he realized it belonged to a dangerous reptile rather than a stray animal, sending shockwaves through him. His immediate cries for help brought neighbors rushing out of their homes, quickly gathering a large crowd and creating an atmosphere of widespread terror across the neighborhood.
Forest Department Intervention and Sudden Dash
Acting swiftly on the owner's alert, a three-member rescue team from the forest department arrived at the location equipped with all necessary gear. The personnel first cleared the gathered crowd to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle for security reasons. As the team initiated efforts to coax the creature out, the crocodile suddenly emerged from beneath and sprinted rapidly across the tarmac for roughly twenty feet. Watching the wild animal bolt so unexpectedly down the thoroughfare caused chaos and panic among the onlookers who scrambled to keep their distance.
Capturing the Reptile with Covered Eyes
Controlling the moving predator on the public road required immense caution and tactical expertise from the forest crew. The members prepared a specialized rope noose, skillfully ensnared the creature's jaw, and brought it under control. To calm the animal down and minimize its thrashing, they swiftly placed a dark cloth over its eyes. Following about fifteen minutes of intense struggle, the team successfully secured the four-and-a-half-foot long reptile without incident.
According to forest department officials, a major drainage canal runs right past the vicinity of Kanchan Resort. Authorities concluded that the crocodile likely strayed from that very drain, wandered into the residential colony, and crawled beneath the vehicle to hide due to the cover of darkness. Once the reptile was safely rescued and transported, residents and the car owner expressed immense relief that the ordeal ended safely.
