Notably, for this year's Sharad Purnima festival, the kheer at the Jagdish Temple was prepared using a massive quantity of 501 liters of milk.
Moonlight placement and distribution of prasad
Following the completion of the evening aarti, Thakurji was traditionally placed beneath the pristine moonlight of the full moon. In accordance with established religious customs, the kheer was then offered to the deity. Kheer holds special significance on Sharad Purnima, which is why it is meticulously prepared and dedicated to the gods on this day. Once the offering was completed, the sanctified prasad was distributed among the gathered devotees. Worshippers partook of the prasad, considering themselves deeply fortunate. A steady stream of visitors continued to visit the temple premises for darshan and prasad well into the evening, showcasing Udaipur's rich spiritual heritage and concluding the festival in a profoundly devotional environment.
