The Rajasthan government has decided to name four major parks in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur after Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to mark his birth anniversary. Officials say memorials capturing his life, his ideas and his contribution to nation building will also come up at all four locations.
The Chief Minister said Dr Mukherjee's life stood for the idea of nation first, and that his ideals continue to push young Indians towards national service, unity and integrity. The government believes the move will draw the younger generation closer to values that serve the nation while reinforcing the resolve behind a developed India and a developed Rajasthan. The decision is being seen within the state as both a cultural and an inspirational gesture.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma Pays Tribute to Dr Mukherjee
On the political front, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also paid a heartfelt tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Jan Sangh, on his birth anniversary. At a programme held at the Chief Minister's residence in Jaipur, Sharma offered flowers before Dr Mukherjee's portrait. He described Dr Mukherjee as a pioneer of national unity and a fierce nationalist thinker, and recalled his sacrifice. The Chief Minister urged people across the state to draw inspiration from Dr Mukherjee's ideals of nation service and nationalism.
Young Man Dies of Electrocution in Sirohi's Revodar
Elsewhere in the state, a young man named Jigar died after being electrocuted on Sunday evening during rainfall in Dantrai village in Sirohi district's Revodar area. He was referred to hospital in a critical condition but succumbed during treatment. Police conducted a post-mortem and handed the body over to his family.

School Bus and Sleeper Bus Collide in Fatehpur's Ravine Belt
In the ravine area of Fatehpur, a private school bus from Laxmangarh collided head-on with a sleeper bus near Garinda Mod. It was a narrow escape for the children on board, none of whom suffered serious injuries. Only 2 people sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Villagers in Dag Block Lock Up Crumbling School Building
In Bhatkhedi village under Dag block, residents ran out of patience over a dilapidated school building. Angered by rainwater leaking through the roof and other problems, villagers locked up the school. On being alerted, the SDM and Gangdhar police reached the spot, persuaded the villagers and got the lock removed. The administration has since assured that repairs will be carried out on the crumbling building.
Bikaner Police Make Two Big Arrests
Bikaner police have scored a major success. Rughveer, the main wanted accused in the Shahrukh murder case from the Shobhasar area on 3 July 2024, has been arrested from Chhatargarh. He had been on the run since the incident, hiding both within the country and abroad, and was finally traced through technical analysis. Separately, JNVC police station arrested Shivlal Kaswan, a wanted accused in a case of a deadly assault dated 3 July 2025.

Bulldozers Flatten History-Sheeter's Illegal Structures in Jhalawar's Gangdhar
In the Gangdhar area of Jhalawar, police and the administration carried out a major bulldozer operation against history-sheeter Sanjay Meena. He is accused of using his influence to encroach upon government land, including grazing land, and building three shops and a plot on it. With police personnel present, the administration ran a JCB machine and demolished all the illegal structures. Sanjay Meena is described as a notorious history-sheeter attached to the Gangdhar police station. The action has triggered panic among other land mafia operators and criminals in the district.
Jaipur High Court Takes a Hard Line on Milk Adulteration
In Jaipur, a division bench of the Rajasthan High Court has taken an extremely strict view of food adulteration and cases endangering public health. The bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and Justice Manish Sharma has ordered an intensive examination of milk products from all major dairy companies. The court stated in no uncertain terms that the sale of synthetic and adulterated milk in the market will not be tolerated under any circumstances. During the hearing, Amicus Curiae and senior advocate M.S. Singhvi placed a startling report before the court, telling the judges that industrial urea is being used extensively in cattle feed, rendering milk poisonous. The same report threw up another distressing figure, 535 farmers in the state have died due to the effects of unsafe pesticides. The High Court took the report on record and expressed sharp displeasure. It has also cracked down on vegetables being grown in dirty water and marshy areas, reprimanding the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board and seeking a detailed action report. The court has further asked how many FIRs have been registered so far to check illegal farming. The order will not be confined to Jaipur alone; it is to be strictly enforced across every district of Rajasthan.
