Late Night Attack and Gunfire on Farmland
The violent incident occurred during the early hours of October 3. Before speeding away from the scene, the armed men issued explicit death threats to anyone attempting to cultivate or protect the land.
Surveillance Data and Criminal Profiling Lead to Arrests
Given the gravity of the armed aggression, law enforcement authorities formed a dedicated investigation team to pursue the culprits. The squad analyzed electronic data and technical evidence around the scene of crime while cross referencing dossiers of habitual offenders previously chargesheeted for extortion, firing, and attempted murder in the region. The investigation pointed directly to the active involvement of the Bhai Raj gang. Acting on concrete intelligence, police tracked down and arrested Lalit Kumar Verma alias Rana and Mahendra Kumar Yadav alias Kana from Chak Manoharpur, recovering the firearm, live cartridges, and motorcycle used in the crime.
Contractual Threat Plot and Illegal Weapon Supply under Probe
Initial interrogation revealed that the conflict stemmed from an illicit encroachment on a room located on the contested parcel of land by Vikram Yogi. Investigators uncovered that the armed operatives were hired on a contract to threaten, intimidate, and evict the cultivators under threat of death. ASP Lakhan Singh stated that custodial interrogation of the arrested duo is underway to gather critical leads regarding the mastermind who financed the hit, other absconding accomplices, and the underground suppliers who provided the unlicensed weaponry.
