The Rajput Karni Sena has raised strong objections to the song titled Shoorveer featured in the film Mirzapur, issuing a strict warning to the makers of the movie. Mahipal Makrana, the national president of the organisation, has demanded that the contentious song be completely removed from the film within a timeframe of 24 hours. He stated unequivocally that if the track is not taken down within this stipulated deadline, the film will not be allowed to screen in cinema halls under any circumstances.
Outrage Over Comparison With Historical Figures
Expressing deep anger, the Karni Sena chief declared that comparing Mewar's legendary warrior and historical icon Maharana Pratap to thugs or hoodlums is entirely unacceptable. According to him, such scenes and musical numbers in the film attempt to tarnish the legacy of a revered historical personality, which has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Rajput community and the general public across the nation.
Demand For Ban And Criticism of Political Figures
The organisation has also urged both the central and state governments to impose an immediate ban on the film to prevent such offensive content from being repeated in the future. During his statement, Makrana sharply criticised senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore for writing a letter to the censor board regarding the matter. He remarked that instead of writing letters to the board, Rathore should have used his influence with his party's government to enforce a direct ban on the movie. The Karni Sena reiterated its warning that aggressive protests will follow if their demands are ignored.
