Local residents report that elected representatives and municipal officials, who offered grand assurances during election campaigns, have turned a blind eye to public grievances, leaving entire neighborhoods dealing with decaying civic infrastructure.
Acute Water Shortages and Four Months of Darkness in Ward 24
In Ward 24, including Tagore Nagar Kacchi Basti, Manpura, Keero Ki Dhani, Marudhar Nagar, and Bawariyon Ka Baas, essential public services have virtually collapsed. Describing the hardship, elderly resident Valki Devi shared that clean drinking water is supplied to the locality only once every 7-8 days. Furthermore, the neighborhood streetlights have remained non-functional for four consecutive months, plunging the streets into total darkness at night. Residents of the nearby Manpura Bhakhri area have similarly expressed intense anger over collapsed drainage lines and completely halted sanitation drives.
Severe Sewage Overflow and Stray Animal Threats in Keshav Nagar
Residents of Keshav Nagar are plagued by persistent sewerage failures. Due to the lack of regular drain cleaning, foul odors engulf the entire area. Local resident Narayan Singh highlighted that despite repeated appeals to the Pali Municipal Corporation, authorities have failed to implement a permanent solution to the sewage overflow. Concurrently, resident Urmila Devi pointed out that stray cattle and packs of aggressive dogs roaming freely through the narrow lanes have made walking extremely hazardous for young children, pedestrians, and senior citizens.
Hazardous Infrastructure and Garbage Accumulation in Shaheed Nagar and Tagore Nagar
In Ward 22 Shaheed Nagar, overflowing sewage and massive piles of garbage have rendered daily life miserable. Senior citizen Kasturram noted that sanitation services have been neglected for a prolonged period, transforming the local Ramlila Maidan into a major dumping ground. Additionally, a broken roadside electricity pole poses an imminent threat of a major accident, yet municipal teams have failed to remove it despite multiple complaints. In Ward 23 Tagore Nagar, roads are severely damaged and pitted with potholes. Local resident Abhishek Rajpurohit stated that broken road surfaces, extinguished streetlights, and negligent sanitation workers have led to total civic apathy, with no action taken despite numerous complaints to municipal officials.
Damaged Culverts and Neglected Complaints in Haider Colony
In Ward 25 Haider Colony, a critical culvert structure on the primary access route has been lying damaged for a long time. Elderly resident Shahida Bano reported that the lack of functional streetlights during nighttime exacerbates the hazard, significantly raising the risk of serious road accidents. Across the ward, civic cleanliness has completely derailed, and repeated formal petitions submitted by citizens to the municipal corporation continue to be ignored.
