A major relief has arrived for medical aspirants appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate, widely known as NEET-PG 2026. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has officially decided to conduct a re-examination for candidates whose tests were disrupted due to a server collapse at two specific exam venues located in the Sitapura area of Jaipur. This rescheduled test will take place on September 5, 2026, starting at 3 PM in Jaipur.
Background of the Technical Glitch
During the nationwide NEET-PG examination held on August 30, severe internal technical issues surfaced at the ION Digital Zone iDZ test centers bearing numbers 41682 and 41683 in Sitapura. A sudden server breakdown forced computer systems to shut down abruptly across both centers, leaving numerous candidates unable to finish their papers. Outraged by the unexpected disruption, students staged protests at the venue premises. Following the incident, the board formally expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the affected aspirants due to the technical failure.
Schedule and Admit Card Details
In alignment with the interests of the impacted students, the board finalized the decision to hold a fresh test. The examination is scheduled for September 5, 2026, at 3 PM in Jaipur. To facilitate this, updated admit cards will soon be released for all eligible candidates. Comprehensive details regarding the newly assigned examination venue will be communicated separately by the board in the coming days.
Nationwide Attendance Figures
Earlier, on August 30, the NEET-PG examination was conducted smoothly across 1111 test centers nationwide. A total of 2,73,096 candidates had registered for the examination, out of which 2,65,980 aspirants actually appeared. While the test concluded successfully for roughly 2,63,535 candidates across the country, the students who faced disruptions at the Sitapura centers are now being granted a fresh opportunity to complete their examination on September 5.
