Investigators probing the widespread malpractice in Rajasthan's 2021 Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination have expanded their dragnet, apprehending two additional suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as Narendra Pratap Singh Jat and Anil Bishnoi. According to findings by the Special Operation Group (SOG), both candidates had accessed and reviewed the compromised test paper prior to the scheduled examination with the assistance of an organized paper leak syndicate, subsequently writing their exam papers using that illicit advantage. The ongoing inquiry has maintained steady momentum, with officials also tracking wanted individuals and detaining three suspects during the recent re-examination conducted for the recruitment drive.
Seven Lakh Rupee Deal for Leaked Question Sheet
Investigative records show that accused Narendra Pratap Singh Jat arranged the paper through Vinod Rewar, an alleged syndicate kingpin hailing from his own village, in exchange for a payment of 7 lakh rupees. After thoroughly preparing from the illicitly procured material, Narendra sat for the SI recruitment test. The official score evaluation later showed that he secured 149.09 marks out of 200 in the Hindi paper, alongside 124.71 marks in the General Knowledge section. Despite those elevated numbers, his standing remained relatively low on the overall merit list, preventing him from securing a spot in the final selection tally. The key ringleader behind this transaction, Vinod Rewar, had already been arrested by the probe agency back in August 2025.
Intermediary Constable Facilitated Twenty Lakh Rupee Transaction
The second arrested candidate, Anil Bishnoi, allegedly negotiated his transaction through a police constable named Shaitanaram, securing the compromised paper from syndicate operator Bhupendra Bishnoi for a sum of 20 lakh rupees. After memorizing the leaked material, Anil took the test and achieved remarkably high marks across both evaluated components. Records reveal he scored 154.69 marks in the Hindi examination and 157.38 marks in the General Knowledge paper. Findings indicate that this structured criminal network systematically funneled confidential question sheets directly to paying examinees well before the scheduled test hours.
Enforcement Net Widens Around the Network
Providing details on the latest detentions, SOG Additional Director General Vishal Bansal noted that enforcement teams continue to untangle each link in the conspiracy. Several key operators tied to the operation were already apprehended during earlier phases of the investigation. Notable among them, Bhupendra Saran was arrested in March 2024, followed by the arrest of Constable Shaitanaram in August 2024. Following concrete evidence of paper leaks and related irregularities in the original 2021 examination, authorities had canceled the initial exercise and arranged a re-examination. Sleuths are presently tracing the broader distribution trail to ascertain precisely which candidates received the leaked questions and uncover additional facilitators who operated within the syndicate. By June 2026, the ongoing probe into the 2021 SI paper leak case had already led to the arrest of 147 individuals.
