A shocking and terrifying incident unfolded late last night in the Malarna Dungar police station area of Sawai Madhopur district, where a two-year-old toddler sleeping in an open veranda was abducted by an unknown intruder. The brazen crime sent immediate shockwaves through the entire village, creating widespread panic among residents. Fortunately, thanks to the timely intervention and active efforts of local villagers and the police force, the child was safely rescued before any major harm could occur.
Mother had arrived in the village for temple darshan
According to available details, Anita Meena, a resident of Shisholav village under the Bouli police station jurisdiction, had arrived at Itawa Balaji along with her two-year-old daughter named Arbi to offer prayers. After completing her temple visit, Anita decided against returning directly to her home and instead went to stay with her maternal cousin residing in Kanch Ki Jhopdi Bharja Nadi village. Worn out from the day-long exhaustion, she chose to spend the night at her relative's residence. No one present could have possibly imagined that such a horrific event would transpire under the cover of darkness.
Intruders stole a mobile phone and took the sleeping child
During the dead of night, Anita was sleeping in the open veranda alongside her toddler, her cousin, and other women. At around 12 midnight, an unknown individual stealthily entered the house premises. The perpetrator first stole a mobile phone kept nearby and then picked up the sleeping infant to carry her away. Amidst the movement, Anita woke up due to a faint sound and immediately spotted a man fleeing with her daughter in his arms. Witnessing this horrifying sight, the mother and the other women sleeping nearby started screaming loudly. Hearing the commotion, a large number of villagers rushed to the spot, but by the time everyone gathered properly, the culprit had already vanished into the darkness with the child.
Accused apprehended in a guava orchard near Banas river
Immediately following the incident, the villagers informed the Malarna Dungar police station about the abduction. Recognizing the extreme gravity of the situation, the police team rushed to the location without wasting any time and gathered complete details of the occurrence. Taking swift action, the authorities ordered thorough barricading across the entire region. Police personnel, alongside local villagers, formed separate search teams and launched an intensive hunt for the child in the dead of night. Residents and law enforcement officers blockaded all paths and surrounding fields near the village. Following persistent efforts and a continuous search operation, the joint hard work of the police and locals paid off, as they cornered and caught the accused hiding inside a large guava orchard situated near the Banas riverbank close to the village. The biggest relief was that the police successfully recovered the abducted toddler completely unharmed from his clutches.
During the recovery of the child, enraged villagers thrashed the accused on the spot. The police somehow managed to rescue the suspect from the angry mob and took him into custody. The apprehended individual was identified as Bheem Singh, son of Ghani Lal Meena, a resident of Bharja Nadi village. According to local residents, the detained accused is a habitual offender and had originally broken into the house with the intent of committing theft. Presently, the Malarna Dungar police station personnel have brought the accused to the station and are interrogating him rigorously. The police are earnestly trying to ascertain the exact motives behind why the suspect targeted and abducted the young child. Following the safe recovery of the infant, the police, administration, and family members heaved a sigh of profound relief.
