Passenger connectivity and public transport infrastructure across Rajasthan are set for a major expansion following the formal approval for three new long-distance train services. The decision came through after initiatives pursued by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and subsequent collaboration with the central government. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave the final clearance to operate these services, creating convenient travel alternatives across multiple districts and strengthening inter-state regional linkages.
Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express to Connect Commercial Hubs
Among the newly sanctioned services, the Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express stands out as a critical long-route connectivity project. The planned itinerary takes the train through several high-density junctions within Rajasthan, specifically routing via Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, and Bharatpur.
Operating along this corridor establishes a direct transit bridge connecting Bhuj in Gujarat with the industrial hub of Barauni in Bihar. By linking these distant commercial zones through eastern and southern Rajasthan, the service will provide smooth transit for business travelers, workers, and everyday passengers who previously lacked straightforward connections across this expanse.
Haridwar Okha and Haridwar Veraval Services Cleared
Addressing prominent tourism and spiritual travel demands, two dedicated express operations have received approval: the Haridwar Okha Express and the Haridwar Veraval Express. Both operations have been scheduled to run across the central belt of Rajasthan.
These two trains are mapped to travel through major stations including Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Abu Road on their journey between their respective terminal stations. For pilgrims heading toward Haridwar in northern India or traveling south toward the religious destinations of Okha and Veraval in Gujarat, these direct links eliminate the hassle of multi-leg transfers and reduce overall travel strain.
Better Commuter Connectivity for Key Districts
The introduction of these three services brings direct benefits to travelers residing in major urban centers such as Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, and Alwar. Commuters from these districts have voiced sustained demand for expanded long-distance rail options to facilitate cross-state movement without unnecessary layovers. The new routes directly serve those passenger needs, easing travel conditions and enhancing overall convenience.
Infrastructure Coordination and Regional Growth
The state leadership continues to coordinate closely with the Railway Ministry to secure broader passenger amenities and rail connectivity projects for Rajasthan. This cooperative engagement between Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw led directly to the green signal for these three routes. Accessible and robust transport links remain essential for boosting commerce, educational access, and regional tourism, positioning the state for accelerated developmental momentum.
