A disturbing incident has come to light from Rajasthan's Pali district. In Bagdiya village, under the Rohat police station area, two innocent men were branded thieves purely on suspicion and brutally beaten through the entire night after being tied up with rope. What makes it more shocking is that one of the men had come with no wrong intention at all. He had simply arrived at his in-laws' home along with a friend. Yet the villagers' misunderstanding and anger turned the two into victims of mob violence.
The matter surfaced the next morning when news of the incident reached the Rohat police. Officers rushed to the spot, freed both men from the villagers' grip and immediately sent them to hospital for treatment.
What Happened That Night
According to the information available, the victim had come to his in-laws' home in Bagdiya village along with a close friend. At night, when the two stepped out into the village, some villagers spotted them. For the past several days, Bagdiya and the nearby areas had been hit by repeated thefts, leaving the village gripped by fear and anger. Seeing two unfamiliar faces in the dark, the villagers assumed they were thieves without asking a single question.
Tied to a Window and Tortured Through the Night
The enraged villagers seized both men and bound their hands and feet with rope. They were then tied to the window of a house and held captive all night. During this time they were beaten mercilessly. The two kept insisting they were innocent, crying out that they had come to visit family, but the villagers, blinded by suspicion of theft, refused to listen to a word. When some sensible people in the village grasped the truth at dawn, the brutality was finally reported to the police.
Police Book 14 Named Villagers
As soon as the report came in, the Rohat police raided Bagdiya village and freed both injured men from the villagers' custody. The victims were given medical and primary treatment at a local hospital. The victim's family is seething with anger over the incident. Acting on their complaint, police have taken a tough stand and registered a case against 14 named villagers and several other unidentified people for taking the law into their own hands and carrying out a murderous assault.
