Political friction escalated into violent clashes in the Alwar district of Rajasthan following municipal corporation elections. The confrontation took place in Belaka village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Vaishali Nagar police station, where tensions boiled over regarding an independent candidate extending support to the Bharatiya Janata Party. The political disagreement turned brutal when a group assaulted the councillor's supporters with wooden sticks and iron rods.
Dispute Over Alliance to Form the Municipal Board
According to accounts emerging from the incident, Anita had contested from Ward 40 as an independent candidate and won the election. Following her victory, she decided to align with the BJP to help the party form the municipal board. This move sparked intense resentment among some village residents. Opponents alleged that the councillor's key supporters influenced her decision to back the BJP, which led local resident Abdul Razzaq and his family members to violently confront them.
Brutal Assault with Rods and Wooden Sticks
The disagreement quickly deteriorated into a physical altercation. The attackers reportedly wielded wooden sticks and iron rods to beat the supporters. During the violent confrontation, Belaka residents Abbas and Yaqoob suffered critical injuries. Abbas sustained severe trauma to his head, while Yaqoob received multiple injuries across his body from the heavy blows dealt by the rods and sticks.
Injured Admitted to Alwar General Hospital
Immediately following the assault, family members and locals rushed both injured men to the General Hospital in Alwar for urgent medical attention. Both victims remain admitted as medical personnel monitor their condition.
