At a time when western cultural trends strongly influence youth, nine-year-old Devanshi Chandak from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is standing out as a proud ambassador of traditional Indian art forms. Demonstrating remarkable dedication and artistic talent, the young classical dancer is actively inspiring children across Rajasthan to embrace Bharatnatyam. She is currently conducting training sessions in Pali, teaching young girls the intricate nuances of this classical discipline. Inspired early on by her parents, Devanshi has achieved artistic milestones that often prove challenging even for seasoned adult performers.
Stage Mastery and 150 Artistic Expressions

Her intense portrayal of sensitive epic sequences, particularly the poignant Draupadi Cheer-Haran episode from the Mahabharata, deeply moves viewers. Her refined facial expressions, subtle eye movements, and rhythmic footwork hold the audience spellbound, frequently earning her standing ovations and applause that fills the entire auditorium.
Future Ambitions: A Dedicated Academy for Indian Culture
Reflecting on her artistic journey, Devanshi views her classical training as a spiritual commitment. She acknowledges her mother's role as her primary catalyst for entering the world of Indian classical dance. Devanshi Chandak shared, "Initially my mother motivated me to learn it, after which I took it to my heart."
Looking ahead, Devanshi's primary goal is to establish her own dance academy. Through this initiative, she aims to provide structured training to young enthusiasts and cultivate a genuine appreciation for classical arts among children. Her ultimate vision is to promote Indian culture and ensure that ancient artistic traditions reach every household across the nation.
Family Support and Preserving Ancient Heritage
Devanshi's family takes immense pride in her dedication and achievements. Her elder brother, Vikas Chandak, highlighted how her nine years of practice and deep devotion have turned her into a role model for others. Performing on prominent platforms while upholding cultural values is a commendable accomplishment for someone her age.
