Apple is rapidly scaling up the production of its upcoming flagship smartphones, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, in India. Manufacturing facilities across the country are boosting assembly capacity ahead of the expected global launch in September. The primary objective of this ramp-up is to meet high export demand in key Western markets, including the United States and Europe.
Foxconn and Tata Electronics Lead Manufacturing
Foxconn will continue to hold the largest share of iPhone assembly operations in India. Its local manufacturing plants are slated to supply the majority of units destined for overseas destinations, particularly the US and European markets. Simultaneously, Tata Electronics is expanding its operational footprint by taking on a significantly larger quota of Pro series models this year.
Expansion Strategy for High-End Models
During the previous generation cycle, Tata Electronics initiated assembly with base models before progressively transitioning into Pro model production. For the upcoming cycle, Tata is set to manufacture a substantially higher volume of premium Pro devices right from the outset. With upgrades such as 2nm chips, enhanced selfie cameras, and refined Dynamic Island features, India's role in Apple's global hardware supply chain is reaching a new milestone.
