Although Christian Harrison and Austin Krajicek won their doubles rubber to put the Americans ahead 2-1, US Open runner-up Ben Shelton succumbed to Jakub Mensik in the reverse singles. Jiri Lehecka then settled the encounter in favor of the Czechs with a straight-sets victory over Learner Tien.
