A distressing tragedy has come to light in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where a 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his sleeping father before ending his own life by jumping in front of a train at Sector 52 Metro Station. The tragic sequence of events unfolded on Wednesday, leaving local residents in shock. Initial police investigations indicate that the teenager was struggling with severe depression triggered by prolonged family strife, his mother living separately, and his father's alleged strict conduct.
Minor Jumps Before Train at Sector 52 Metro Station
The incident first came to public attention on Wednesday when the Sector 49 Police Station received an urgent alert via the Dial 112 emergency response system. Callers reported that a young boy had jumped on the tracks in front of an approaching train at the Sector 52 Metro Station. Metro staff and security personnel acted swiftly to rescue the youth from the track area and rushed him to a nearby medical facility. However, attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Subsequent identification confirmed that the deceased was a 16-year-old minor residing in Sector 73, Noida, and the son of Raju Sharma. Following the completion of mandatory legal procedures, police sent the minor's body for a post-mortem examination and later handed it over to his mother and maternal uncle.
Distress Over Family Separation and Domestic Friction
As investigators probed the circumstances leading to the suicide, details emerged regarding the youth's troubled home environment. The boy had been residing with his father, Raju Sharma, in a rented accommodation located in Garhi Chaukhandi village. Raju Sharma worked as a private tutor to earn a livelihood. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the boy's mother had left Raju and began living separately, leaving the teenager to reside alone with his father. Officials noted that the combination of his mother's prolonged absence and his father's alleged harsh behavior caused the teenager significant mental distress. Driven by deep depression, the minor attacked and killed Raju Sharma in the early hours of Wednesday while the father was asleep, after which he headed straight to the metro station to carry out his own fatal step.
Father's Body Found in Rented Room After Odor Alert
At the time of the metro incident, authorities were unaware of the homicide committed at the rented house. Meanwhile, Raju Sharma's brother, Arun, had been attempting to locate his brother's residence after failing to reach him. Seeking assistance, Arun approached local police outposts in Parthala and Garhi Chaukhandi. The crime came to light late Thursday night when residents near Tikona Park in Garhi Chaukhandi alerted police about a foul smell emanating from a closed rented room. Police officers, accompanied by Arun, forced entry into the premises and discovered Raju Sharma's body inside. Police completed the requisite documentation on site and dispatched the body for post-mortem analysis. Further police investigation into the matter remains underway.
