Following a fatal road accident on the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway, the bodies of Aban and his companion Sonu have reached Hatwa village. Brought from Jhansi in a convoy comprising dozens of vehicles after post-mortem procedures were completed, the arrival was met with tightened security measures across the region. Burial proceedings for Sonu are scheduled at the local cemetery in Hatwa village, whereas Aban will be laid to rest at his family's ancestral Kasari Masari cemetery after Friday afternoon prayers.
Burial Next to Atiq Ahmed's Grave in Kasari Masari
Preparations for Aban's final rites have been finalized at the Kasari Masari cemetery. A grave has been prepared directly adjacent to the grave of Atiq Ahmed. The ancestral burial ground also houses the graves of Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, and his son Asad. Burial proceedings are expected to take place between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. To maintain order and prevent any security incidents, police personnel have been heavily deployed throughout Kasari Masari and Hatwa village.
Umar and Ali Seek Parole From High Court to Attend Funeral
Seeking permission to attend their brother's funeral, Atiq's elder son Umar and younger son Ali filed a parole application in the High Court. Hearing on the parole plea is scheduled for around 12:00 PM. Attendance of both brothers at the funeral remains contingent upon the court approving their request. Currently, Mohammad Umar is incarcerated in Lucknow Jail, while Ali Ahmed is lodged in Jhansi Jail. Aban was on his way to visit Ali when the tragic accident occurred on Thursday.
Fatal Crash on Jhansi-Kanpur Highway
The accident took place in the Poonch police station area while Aban was traveling to Jhansi with friends to meet Ali Ahmed. Their high-speed Hyundai Creta car collided violently with a road divider along the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway. Five individuals were traveling in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two occupants, Aban and Sonu, lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries.
Police Investigation Highlights High Speed as Cause of Accident
Emergency responders dispatched the injured occupants to the hospital immediately after reaching the site. Senior Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murti stated that injured passengers Azam, Mohammad Javed, and Umar were admitted to Jhansi Medical College for medical treatment. Initial police investigations indicate that the vehicle was traveling at an extremely high speed when it lost control and crashed into the divider.
