Target of 28 Lakh Lamps and 35 Thousand Volunteers
This year, authorities have set an ambitious target of lighting approximately 28 lakh diyas across the city. To organize these lamps systematically and manage the logistical requirements of the sprawling event, nearly 35,000 volunteers are being mobilized. The administration has initiated preparations across multiple tiers well in advance to ensure smooth execution.
The meticulous arrangement of lamps along the Saryu riverbanks, from precise placement to timely lighting, will be managed collaboratively by volunteers and relevant government departments. Crucial Role of Volunteers at the Ghats

Municipal Commissioner Jaupendra Kumar stated that preparations for Deepotsav are fully complete. He explained that all arrangements regarding the cleaning of the ghats, procedures for collecting the diyas after the event, and their respectful immersion or organized storage have been finalized and will be executed on schedule. He added that the tender processes for remaining infrastructural tasks are being initiated so that all necessary work is completed in a timely manner.
Comprehensive Traffic and Infrastructure Arrangements
Decoration work across the primary crossroads and prominent locations of the city is managed directly by the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation. The specialized intelligent lighting utilized during Deepotsav is organized through the Tourism Department, and the process for this has already commenced. Officials anticipate that citizens and visitors will witness the vibrant results as the festival approaches.
Special arrangements are being finalized regarding security, traffic management, ghat infrastructure, cleanliness, uninterrupted electricity supply, drinking water availability, and pilgrim convenience during the festival.
