Five members of the same family were killed in a devastating road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, in the pre-dawn hours of July 1. The crash unfolded around 4:30 AM and involved a private sleeper bus and an Ertiga car. The bus driver fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, and drove across the central divider into oncoming traffic, where the Ertiga was travelling in the opposite direction. Two of the five dead were young girls. Twelve passengers on the bus also suffered injuries in the collision.
How the Crash Unfolded
The accident happened at kilometre marker 230 on the expressway, near the village of Devkhri in the Bangarmau Kotwali area of Unnao district.
