A fatal incident of domestic conflict was reported from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly struck her former husband on the head with a heavy kitchen utensil during a heated argument. The victim, who sustained severe head trauma, later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a medical center. Local police have taken the accused woman into custody and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
Heated Altercation Outside Residence Escalates into Violence
According to official statements provided by the police, the violent encounter occurred in the Kaushalya Garden area of Janki Puram in Lucknow. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Soni, a resident of the Ashiana neighborhood in the city. On Thursday, Soni visited the house of his former wife, Tapasya Singh, located in Janki Puram. An argument broke out between the two outside her house regarding an undisclosed issue. As the verbal quarrel intensified, Tapasya Singh allegedly retrieved a iron griddle frying pan and struck Soni forcefully on his head, inflicting grievous injuries.
Medical Transfer from Janki Puram Trauma Centre to KGMU
Following the sudden attack, Soni collapsed with profuse bleeding. He was immediately rushed to a nearby trauma center in Janki Puram for emergency medical attention. Observing the critical nature of his head injuries, attending physicians referred him to King George's Medical University for advanced critical care. Despite intensive medical interventions at the hospital, Soni succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Law enforcement authorities subsequently took possession of the body and dispatched it for a formal post-mortem examination.
Police Custody and Pending Formal Complaint
Briefing the media on Friday, police confirmed that the suspect, Tapasya Singh, was promptly detained following the incident. Investigating officers are currently interrogating her while forensic teams gather physical and circumstantial evidence from the scene of the crime. Authorities further noted that a formal written complaint from the victim's family members is currently awaited, upon receipt of which an official case will be formally registered and further judicial proceedings initiated.
