A dramatic incident unfolded near the Hindon River in the Kulesara village area under the Ecotech-3 police station limits in Greater Noida, where a young woman jumped into the water following an argument over marriage. Seeing her plunge into the river, her boyfriend also jumped in to save her, but the woman remains untraceable as rescue teams comb the area.
Dispute Erupts Over Marriage Plans
The incident took place late at night around 9 PM when 19-year-old Sanjana and her boyfriend Rahul got into a heated argument regarding their marriage. After Rahul allegedly refused to marry her, an enraged and upset Sanjana rushed to the Hindon bridge and took the extreme step of jumping into the river below.
Boyfriend Jumps In After Her as Locals Step In
As soon as Sanjana leaped off the bridge, Rahul followed her into the water in an attempt to pull her back to safety. While locals present at the scene managed to rescue Rahul safely from the river, Sanjana vanished beneath the surface, prompting immediate panic and a frantic search operation.
Police and NDRF Launch Search Operations
Upon receiving information about the incident, local police rushed to the spot and summoned an NDRF team to assist in the rescue operation. According to Sanjana's father, she was in regular contact with Rahul, and the dispute arose after he backed out of their marriage plans. Authorities are continuing their search efforts in the river to locate the missing woman.
