A shocking incident of domestic violence and greed has emerged from the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, where an elderly woman was publicly assaulted by her own family members over a financial dispute. The harrowing episode occurred in the village of Narayanpur Banska ki Madaiya, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kapurpur police station. A video capturing the sheer brutality of the assault has surfaced on social media, showing a defenseless elderly woman being dragged on the road, thrown to the ground, and mercilessly beaten by several individuals in broad daylight.
Daughter-in-Law and Grandsons Named in Brutal Attack
The victim, an elderly woman named Tasso, who is the widow of the late Aliyar, has formally approached the local authorities at the Kapurpur police station with a written complaint. According to her statement, the incident transpired on the morning of July 23, 2026, at around 8:00 AM. Tasso alleged that she was intercepted on the street by her immediate family members, identified as her daughter-in-law Sanno, along with Farah, Sabad, and Shoaib, who are her grandsons and granddaughter-in-law. The attackers pinned her to the ground and beat her severely, inflicting deep injuries on her head, which subsequently required emergency medical treatment and bandaging at a hospital.
Jewar Airport Land Acquisition Payout Sparks Conflict
Family sources close to the victim revealed that the root cause of this violent dispute is a government compensation payout. Tasso had received approximately 5,40,000 rupees as compensation under the land acquisition drive for the Jewar Airport project. The suspects had reportedly already taken a major chunk of the money, amounting to 3,00,000 rupees, prior to the incident. However, they continued to pressure the elderly matriarch for an additional 2,50,000 rupees. When Tasso stood her ground and flatly refused to yield to their escalating financial demands, the suspects cornered her on her way and resorted to physical violence to extort the money.
Local Villagers Intervene as Police Launch Investigation
The horrific scene unfolded in front of several passersby and neighbors, who quickly rushed to the spot. Local villagers intervened just in time to pull the aggressive family members away and rescue the elderly victim from further harm. The public nature of the assault has sparked immense outrage among the local residents, who are demanding immediate justice.
