In a significant crackdown, the Sector-20 police station in Noida has apprehended a notorious gang involved in stealing two-wheeled vehicles and mobile phones. Utilizing a combination of electronic surveillance and local intelligence, the police successfully tracked down the perpetrators. During the operation, authorities arrested six individuals and took two minors into custody under legal protective supervision. The police recovered three stolen motorcycles, three mobile phones, one .315 caliber illegal firearm, and three illegal knives from the possession of the accused.
Details of the Apprehended Individuals
The arrested individuals resided in various areas of Noida, including Sector-27, Sector-31, and Sector-113. According to police records, most of the accused are originally from different districts in Bihar. The adults arrested include Danish (19, son of Md. Sohrav), Appu alias Sandeep (22, son of Shyam), Vikas (22, son of Harishankar), Sahil alias Shubham (18, son of Mukesh Prasad), Sharad Singh Dev (19, son of Bhawan Singh Dev), and Suraj Kumar Gupta (30, son of Vishwanath). A case has been registered at the Sector-20 police station under Case Number 259/2026, invoking Section 317(5) of the BNS and the Arms Act.
Modus Operandi
According to police findings, the gang operated with a calculated approach. The members would conduct reconnaissance of an area before stealing motorcycles. They subsequently used these stolen bikes to facilitate mobile snatching and other thefts across the Noida-NCR region. These individuals are described as seasoned criminals, with the majority having prior records involving theft, robbery, and Arms Act violations. Specifically, Appu alias Sandeep and Vikas are noted for having the most extensive criminal histories among the group.
Criminal Records
The accused have a history of brushes with the law. Appu alias Sandeep faces six registered cases across Sector-20 and Sector-39 police stations involving theft and illegal weapons. Similarly, Vikas has five cases registered against him, while Sahil alias Shubham has six, and Suraj Kumar Gupta has three. Following this successful operation, the Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar Police stated that they intend to maintain a strict stance against such criminal syndicates operating within the region to ensure public safety.
